Bridal Dermatology Services

At North Atlanta Dermatology, we understand that your wedding day is one of the most memorable and photographed days of your life. We know that you want to look your best, and while the many rituals of bridal pampering can help, we know from experience that that special and indescribable glow comes from deeper within, from how we see and treat ourselves. There is no better time for self-care than leading up to your wedding day, and we are pleased to offer specialized bridal services to meet the needs of every bride and her mother on the big day.

As soon as you select a wedding date, give yourself the reward of taking the time to have a conversation with us. We can break down your situation, and guide you on the best course of action. Our team takes great pride in being able to support all our patients, whether you’re looking to use our body toning services, improve the overall look of your skin, combine cosmetic treatments, improve hair loss, or all the above. Everyone’s skin and body are different, but we are all the same in that we want that special glow, both inside and out. For a bride-to-be, there’s no better time to look and feel your best, and it doesn’t hurt that it will all be captured in photos. With a plan in place, things like fine lines, discoloration, sun damage, or a longer-standing issue you’ve been trying to hide can be addressed. If there is any time to have confidence in how you look and feel, now is that time.

Your doctor will guide you, as each patient is different, but let’s look at the timeframe and steps you may consider.

One Year Out

Congratulations on your engagement! Let’s assume that you have a year to plan. Step one is to find a reputable, top dermatologist like those North Atlanta Dermatology. Take consultations and come armed with your list of concerns and goals. Ask to see before-and-after’s and be open about your expectations. Choose a doctor and give them the timeframe within which you are working.

Now is a great time to begin the care regimen that requires a bit more effort and some time for your skin and body to rest. This will include:

Laser resurfacing will be an integral part of your skincare regimen and you will have plenty of time to see incredible changes in discoloration, hyperpigmentation, scarring, sun damage, and more. These take time and require spacing between treatments, so we must start early.

A year out is also the time to begin the body contouring process.  CoolSculpting is a non-invasive way to eliminate unsightly fat and uncover that shape you’re looking for.

PRP for Hair Loss: Using an innovative method to extract platelet-rich plasma from your own blood, we can help regrow hair you may have lost from stress, genetics, or a prior surgical procedure.

Tretinoin & Skin Serums. A tried-and-true treatment for surface blemishes, tretinoin (synthetic), and natural Vitamin skin serums must be started early to achieve a longer-term glow or treat acne and other skin blemishes.

8 Months

If your skin care plan includes Botox, now is a great time to start your trial. You want to see gradual changes and monitor your skin’s response. Just as you don’t want to choose a hair and makeup person the week of the wedding, don’t start a significant skin treatment without knowing how you will take to it, how it will look, and allowing time for recovery.

Microblading may be right for you if you want to accentuate your naturally fine hair using semi-permanent makeup. Using a tool that looks much like a knife blade, we can create the appearance of individual hairs to maximize the look, fullness, and shape of your eyebrows.

6 Months

Dermal fillers, one of our most popular facial treatments will start at least six months before. Be mindful that weight fluctuation can affect facial features. Some brides take on additional exercise and weight management goals, and these changes have a bearing on their fillers. Changes in the face are noticeable and often immediate with weight loss, so it’s best to let weight stabilize before treatment.

Microneedling is an excellent way to boost collagen production in the skin without invasive procedures that require downtime. By making tiny pricks in the skin, fine lines and wrinkles can be minimized as the body produces collagen to repair and fill in these areas

Regular VI Peel chemical peels starting at the six-month mark provide a deep and effective solution that improves the look and feel of your most sensitive skin and makes it the perfect pallet for any other treatments you are having.

3 months

At three months out, our patients will benefit from Emsculpt treatment. More than simply a fat reduction tool, Emsculpt also uses magnetic technology to stimulate the muscles in the treatment area. This improves both the contour and shape of the treatment area while improving muscle tone. No sweat! Literally.

0-2 months

In the lead-up to the wedding, your last two months will consist of biweekly DiamondGlow treatments. An advanced and novel form of microdermabrasion, DiamondGlow brings out the very best in your skin.

Final Stretch to Wedding: You are glowing inside and out. You have come a long way. Schedule your last facial a week before the ceremony: no injectables, peels, or new treatments. Get lots of sleep and avoid alcohol and fried and sodium-filled foods. And of course, be sure to keep us posted and bring any last-minute questions you may have to our attention. Congratulations!
