How Much Should Body Sculpting Cost?

Body sculpting, including Coolsculpting and Emsculpt, has, for good reason, dramatically increased in popularity over the past decade. For patients needing fat sculpting, or in the case of Emsculpt, muscle contouring, non-invasive treatments have become far more effective and desirable over the years. Compared to the prior option of surgical fat removal in the form of liposuction, the results for certain parts of the body and recovery time are very favorable. Further, patients can target their last small areas of fat accumulation that previously could not be treated using liposuction. Improvements in technology have made these in-office procedures more accurate, more effective, and less costly.

Of course, as with any cosmetic procedure, there is the question of cost, and in this blog, we will discuss the treatment options that can affect that.

Cost Variables

The cost of body sculpting can vary dramatically based on the areas being treated, the number of areas the patient wishes to treat, and ultimately how much fat the patient wishes to eliminate. Typically, patients look for the treatment of:

  • Abdominal / tummy fat
  • Back fat
  • Love handles
  • Arms
  • Male breast tissue
  • Chin fat
  • Muscle tone

If you research the costs of body sculpting, you may find some significant variance – anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000. These cost numbers represent the differences in the size of treatment areas and how many sessions may be needed. Ultimately, body sculpting is a customizable process that can be as straightforward as a few sessions in a small area like under-chin fat versus many sessions treating wider regions like arms, thighs, and butt.

Of course, the best way to understand the cost of treatment is to visit our office for a consultation and speak to one of our providers who can evaluate your body composition, listen to your goals and recommend a treatment plan for your needs.

Reducing Cost – Staying or Getting in Shape

The results of any body sculpting procedure can be improved in several ways, which may also reduce the overall cost of treatment. First, patients should be at their expected long-term weight and not fluctuate dramatically before or after the procedure. Weight and fat accumulation fluctuations can change the appearance of the treated area and ultimately make for less desirable results. These fluctuations may also precipitate the need for further treatments. Note that the treated fat will never regrow. However, fat areas around it certainly can, thus changing the cosmetic result.

Improving muscle tone can also help with the cosmetic results of any body sculpting procedure. Muscle tone not only helps burn additional calories at rest but shapes the body, enhancing the fat removal and toning process.

Expectations

Part of the value of body sculpting comes from a patient’s expectations. First, it is important to understand that body sculpting will not remove all the fat in an area. Nor would we want it to. Fat is critical to the proper shape and health of the body. Patients should also understand that sculpting procedures simply cannot target every body part that has accumulated excess fat. Coolsculpting and Emsculpt are only approved for specific body areas, though this roster of body parts has expanded over the years. Lastly, body sculpting will not eliminate large amounts of fat or lead to significant weight loss. In these instances, patients may need to discuss a liposuction procedure with their cosmetic surgeon if this is the desired outcome.

To address that stubborn fat that simply won’t go away, no matter how much you exercise, we encourage you to visit our office and learn more about our body sculpting technologies. We will work with you to target the areas that most cost-effectively offer your desired cosmetic results while enhancing your natural shape.
