To our North Atlanta Dermatology family of patients and staff,
As you are no doubt aware, we as a city, nation and world are struggling with the Coronavirus Pandemic known as Covid-19. As a responsible medical practice we are closely following the advice of the CDC and Georgia Department of Health. The CDC recommends the use of personal isolation and social distancing to minimize the risk of spreading the virus to potentially vulnerable members of our community. While older members of the population tend to be at greater risk of serious illness from this virus, it has been far less discriminating than a normal Influenza outbreak. There have been far more cases of young and previously healthy patients succumbing to Covid-19 as well as large numbers of previously healthy middle aged victims requiring hospital admission and intensive medical intervention. This is clearly not “just another Influenza outbreak”.
We cannot in good conscience put our patients and staff at risk of this potentially deadly disease. As such we have decided to close our physical practice for the time being. We realize that it is important for you to receive the dermatologic care that you have trusted us to provide during this difficult time. To that end we have instituted a North Atlanta Dermatology Telemedicine program accessible by calling our office and scheduling an appointment. Call 770-814-8222 ext 247. In most cases you can have your virtual appointment the same day. By following the link to the Telemedicine page on our web site you can see the type of conditions most amenable to a telemedicine evaluation. To all our patients with a condition that requires immediate intervention, including serious skin cancer, we will be reaching out and arranging for your care to be provided as always.
At this time we are rescheduling physical appointments for our patients to a date 2 weeks out from today for most of our dermatology providers. If your appointment has been cancelled we will be reaching out to you to reschedule at the earliest possible time.
This is a very fluid situation and we will be reevaluating our response on a daily basis. Our goal is to provide you with the same high quality, personal dermatology care that we have always offered at North Atlanta Dermatology.
Our hopes and prayers go out to you and all of our Atlanta neighbors in this difficult time.
